One of my favorite places in Toronto in the summer is High Park. This park is in the central west area of the city and is very easy to get to – just get off at the High Park Subway Station. There are many different activities to do in High Park. There’s a small zoo with animals from North America and Asia; a forest with numerous hiking trails where you can see birds, squirrels and chipmunks; bike trails; a fantastic playground for children; picnic areas; beautiful gardens; a pond with ducks and swans; a restaurant; huge art sculptures and an open air theatre where Shakespearean plays are performed. You can also visit Colborne Lodge, the historical house on the original estate. If you go, you can spend all day there. It’s very relaxing and you can easily forget that you are in the middle of a megacity. It’s the perfect place in which to enjoy a beautiful summer day in Toronto.
