"Hi, My name is Javier. I had a wonderful time when I studied here. I improved my English very quickly. The teaching methods and class activities are good because they are practical and fun. ESC gives you the opportunity to meet a lot of people from different countries. "

Up-coming Activities

Each summer, the English School of Canada embarks on numerous camping trips in to Algonquin Park. Algonquin Park is Canada's most famous provincial park and it is home to some of the most amazing animals in Canada: black bears, moose, beavers, wolves and deer. Read about one student's unforgetable trip to the park!

Camping season is coming and ESC is gearing up for it! Here is a first hand account from a student who joined an ESC camping trip in May 2003!

When I decided to go to Canada, I realized that I wanted to see the beautiful nature that Canada has. I heard that Canada is the second largest country in the world, and has people of only 28,000,000! Therefore, I realized that there must be a lot of open nature! When I got to Algonquin Park I knew this was true.

We left Toronto at 8:45am. I was tired and I planned to sleep on the bus. Anthony said that the trip would take 4 hours! As we drove away from Toronto the people got less and less and the trees got more and more. When we arrived in Algonquin Park I was very surpirsed that there were no houses, or anything like that. There were pictures warning us about Moose crossing the street. It was very strange.

Anthony told us that we would see a moose for sure, so I kept looking. After 5 mintues we saw many cars on the side of the road. We stopped and there we saw a whole family of moose! A mother, father and baby. It was amazing. They looked like huge horses with big horns! After we saw the moose we went to our camp site. At the camp site we were very far away from other people. There was no light, no electricty, no showers, and really no noise. It was so quiet.

We put up our tents and had dinner. Anthony cooked. I was very surprised, but his food was very good. After dinner, Anthony and James taught us how to ride a canoe. It was very fun.

I woke up next morning in my tent. We went for a very long canoe trip that day. We went down beautiful rivers and saw beautiful scenes. It was so quiet and clean. We did not see anybody else whole day.

The last day we went hiking. We climbed a large mountain and at the end of the path there was a beautiful waterfall. It was not like Niagara Falls, but it was nice. We could swim in the water at the water falls. It was very cold, but after the walking it was good.

Now I am back in Toronto. Algonquin Park was the best time that I have had in Canada. It is really what everyone told me about Canada. It is natural and it is beautiful. I recommend that everyone go camping in Algonquin Park.
